Install Microsoft Office

Your Crestmont student account includes access to Microsoft 365 apps such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneDrive.

Install Microsoft 365

  1. Go to m365.cloud.microsoft/apps and sign in with your Crestmont email address.
    1. From the home page select Install apps. (Or, you might need to select Apps from the left navigation pane, and then select Install apps.)
    2. Open and run the installer that downloads. To complete the installation and activation steps, follow the prompts in the following install and activation sections.
    3. After installation is complete, open Word and sign in with your Crestmont email address.


    On a Mac

    The process is similar. The installer downloads as a .pkg file. macOS may ask for the password you use to sign in to your Mac so it can install the software. This is your computer password, not your Crestmont password.

    If Microsoft asks you to purchase a subscription

    First, check which Microsoft account is signed in. If a personal Microsoft account is active, sign out and then sign back in with your Crestmont email address. You can also review the article Word Says Read-Only or Will Not Let You Edit.

    Notes

    Good to know: Your university-provided Microsoft 365 access can be used on up to five devices.
